Influenza-like illness
Flu data was not updated this week. Activity is likely minimal, given the time of year and recent trends.
Covid-19
Activity for Covid-19 remains low across the country, with emergency department (ED) visits at 0.2%, and hospitalizations at 0.1%. That said, we are noticing a slight uptick in ED visits in the South and West, which tells us the summer wave might be creeping in.

A closer look at Covid-19 epidemic trends tells us that activity is growing in Florida, Texas, California, and Nevada. Several additional states throughout the South and Midwest are also edging up, with CDC’s Center for Forecasting and Outbreak Analytics estimates that activity is “likely growing” in Alabama, Georgia, Arizona, Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska. These observations are supported by increases in wastewater concentration, test positivity, and (very slight) increases in ED visits in those states.
