Influenza-like illness

Influenza activity remains low in the Midwest. It is the currently the quietest region in the country, but activity is starting to pick up as we head into November.

Across the region, outpatient influenza-like illness is flat at 1.2%, about the same as this time last year (this is low). Flu accounts for 0.4% of ED visits, up from 0.3% last week (also low), and flu test positivity rose from 2.9% to 4.2%. The hospital admission rate for influenza rose from 0.6 to 0.9 per 100,000.
